ST8207 800mA high output current LDO regulator

ST8207 800mA Low-Dropout (LDO) Linear Regulator

ST8207

The ST8207 is an 800mA high-output-current, low-dropout linear regulator (LDO) based on CMOS technology, with only 100mV dropout at 300mA load (VOUT=5V) and ±1% output accuracy. It draws 82uA typical operating current and just 0.1uA in shutdown, achieves 65dB ripple rejection at 1kHz, and integrates overcurrent protection and an ON/OFF control circuit that works with small ceramic capacitors. Available in fixed 1.8V / 3.3V / 5.0V outputs and SOT-89-5, SOT-23-5, TO252-5, SOT-89-3 packages for optical drives, communication devices and notebook PC power supplies.

Product details

Overview

The ST8207 series are positive voltage regulators with low dropout voltage, high output voltage accuracy and low current consumption, developed based on CMOS technology. A built-in low on-resistance transistor provides a low dropout voltage of just 100mV at 300mA load (VOUT=5V) and a large 800mA output current; a built-in overcurrent protector prevents the load current from exceeding the current capacity of the output transistor, and an ON/OFF circuit ensures a long battery life. Compared with regulators using conventional CMOS processes, a larger variety of capacitors are available, including small ceramic capacitors.
