ST8416 192kHz 8-Input Digital Audio Receiver (S/PDIF + AES3)
Specifications
Product details
Overview
The ST8416 is a CMOS monolithic receiver and decoder for digital audio signals, featuring an 8:1 input multiplexer and supporting IEC60958, S/PDIF, EIAJ CP1201 and AES3 audio interfaces with sample rates from 32kHz to 192kHz. The device integrates a serial digital audio output interface and supports both software and hardware configuration modes; channel status data is stored in on-chip registers for easy readout, and three GPO pins are programmable for various output states. An internal PLL recovers a clean clock from the AES3 data stream, with RMCK output clock jitter of only 200ps RMS typical, ensuring the clock purity required by high-fidelity audio links. Differential inputs are supported, compressed audio streams are detected automatically, and CD Q sub-code can be decoded, while the VL logic interface supply works with both +3.3V and +5.0V systems. Housed in a TSSOP28 package over -40℃ to +85℃, the ST8416 provides a complete S/PDIF/AES3 receive-and-decode solution for professional and consumer digital audio equipment.
