ST714x 100Mbps 5kVrms Enhanced High-Speed Quad-Channel Digital Isolator

ST714x 100Mbps 5kVrms Enhanced High-Speed Quad-Channel Digital Isolator

ST714x

The ST714x is an enhanced high-speed quad-channel digital isolator in which the logic input and output buffers of each isolated channel are separated by a double-capacitive silicon dioxide (SiO₂) insulation barrier. The four fully independent data channels encode the input data and recover it without distortion at the receiving end. Operating from dual isolated 2.5V~5.5V supplies with 2.5V~5.5V level shifting, the series delivers a 100Mbps signal transmission rate, 11ns typical propagation delay (5V supply) and only 3ns pulse-width distortion, together with ±100kV/μs CMTI, up to 5kVrms isolation withstand voltage, up to 13kV surge immunity and an isolation barrier lifetime exceeding 50 years. The ST7140 provides four forward channels with an output enable on the output side, the ST7141 offers three forward and one reverse channel, and the ST7142 two forward and two reverse channels with output enables on both sides; L-suffix and H-suffix devices default to low or high output respectively upon input-side power or signal loss. Available in 16-pin wide-body SOW16 (-W, 5000Vrms) and 16-pin narrow-body SSOP16 (-S, 3750Vrms) packages over a -40~+125℃ range, the ST714x is widely used in industrial automation, motor control, solar inverters, isolated power supplies and medical equipment.

Product details

Overview

The ST714x is an enhanced high-speed quad-channel digital isolator providing complete electrical isolation between input and output. The logic input and output buffers of each isolated channel are separated by a double-capacitive silicon dioxide (SiO₂) insulation barrier, and the four fully independent data channels encode the input data and recover it without distortion at the receiving end. Within the series, the ST7140 has all four channels in the forward direction with an output enable on the output side, the ST7141 has three forward and one reverse channel, and the ST7142 has two forward and two reverse channels, both with output enables on each side for flexible multi-bus control; if input-side power or signal is lost, L-suffix devices default to a low output and H-suffix devices to a high output. Featuring high insulation capability, the ST714x delivers high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions at low power consumption, preventing noise and surges on data buses or other circuits from reaching the local ground and damaging sensitive circuits, while its high CMTI ensures correct digital signal transmission. The devices are offered in 16-pin wide-body SOW16 (-W) and 16-pin narrow-body SSOP16 (-S) packages over a -40~+125℃ operating range.
