The ST8034 is a wide-input-range, high-efficiency synchronous step-down DC-DC converter with a 4.2V~16V input range, delivering up to 4A output current with a 0.923V reference for low output voltages. Current-mode PWM control allows the use of small ceramic capacitors and small inductors while keeping output ripple low; the integrated synchronous rectifier eliminates the external Schottky diode, and a proprietary control scheme switches the device into power-save mode at light load, extending the high-efficiency range to up to 95%. Inductor short-circuit protection, logic-controlled shutdown, thermal shutdown and UVLO are built in.
