ST1262 1.65A Single-Phase Full-Wave BLDC Motor Driver

ST1262 1.65A Single-Phase Full-Wave BLDC Motor Driver

ST1262

The ST1262 is a single-coil brushless DC motor driver IC operating from a wide 3V to 18V supply, delivering 0~1.55A output current with a 1.65A peak through a single-phase full-wave output stage. Motor speed is regulated by a highly efficient direct PWM control method with a 5~100kHz input range. The device integrates a minimum-speed limit (ST1262E) or minimum stop-PWM mode (ST1262S), adjustable speed-slope control, soft start and a noise-control mode, together with built-in over-temperature protection (TSD 170℃), over-current protection (internal 1.65A limit) and lock protection with automatic restart. A built-in Hall bias, FG speed-feedback and RD rotation-detection outputs are provided. Housed in an eTSSOP16L (5mm×4.4mm) package, the ST1262 is widely used in PC power-supply cooling fans, CPU cooler/VGA fans and other PWM speed-controlled fan applications.

Overview

The ST1262 is a single-coil brushless DC motor driver IC operating from a wide 3V to 18V supply, delivering 0~1.55A output current with a 1.65A peak through a single-phase full-wave output stage. Motor speed is regulated by a highly efficient direct PWM control method. The device integrates an adjustable minimum-speed limit (ST1262E) or minimum stop-PWM setting (ST1262S), adjustable speed-slope control and soft start that suppresses high peak starting current for reliable start-up even at low speeds. A noise-control mode optimizes low-noise, low-vibration performance via a resistor on the SQ pin. Built-in over-temperature protection (150~180℃, 30℃ hysteresis), over-current protection (internal 1.65A limit) and lock protection with automatic restart safeguard the system, while FG speed-feedback and RD rotation-detection outputs are provided together with a built-in Hall bias. Housed in an eTSSOP16L (5mm×4.4mm) package, the ST1262 provides an integrated motor drive solution for PC power-supply cooling fans, CPU cooler/VGA fans and other PWM speed-controlled fan applications.
